BREAKING NEWS: A WOMAN is in a serious condition in hospital after a serious road crash tonight.
The incident happened at ‘Race End’ in Ballyare – on the main road between Illistrin and The Diamond.
It was a single vehicle crash, with no other cars involved.
The female motorist was stabilised at the scene of the crash before being taken to Letterkenny General Hospital where she is being treated for several injuries. She’s thought to be in a serious condition.
Gardaí say the road where the accident took place will remain closed overnight to allow for a morning technical examination.
The crash came as conditions on roads across the county deteriorated.
There is widespread ice on many roads; with conditions expected to worsen before dawn tomorrow.
Met Eireann says temperatures could drop to -5C in some places.
