The Newtowncunningham Community Development Initiative LTD ( NCDI) will host their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 26th March at 8pm in their office at Main Street Newtowncunningham. All are welcome.

NCDI has been in existence for almost 12 years and has many achievements for the local & cross border community since it started.

The group operates for the benefit of all members of the community regardless of their age, gender, race, religion or political beliefs.

NCDI has achieved a considerable amount during its 12 years, a successful youth and lifelong learning programme, cross community & cross border participation, regeneration & environmental improvements.

It has also been successful in securing considerable funding investment for the village and encouraged community involvement and participation that has led to increased community activity and expectations.

Unfortunately NCDI has had no core costs grant aid funding since 31st October 2013. It recently secured a grant of €11,000 from the Department of Foreign Affairs and are very grateful for this. Events are being planned at present.

NCDI had been funded for 30 months through The Community Bridges Programme by The International Fund for Ireland in a joint project with Carnlough Community Association in Co. Antrim & Glebeside Community Association in Ballymoney as part of the Northern Arc Project.

Opportunities for applying for grant aid for the project to continue are very limited but NCDI will be making applications in the coming months and remain hopeful that they will secure funding to continue into the future.

In these difficult funding times NCDI would like to acknowledge the support of the local Credit Union who has offered them office accommodation rent free from April in their new premises.

It is also very important to say a very sincere thank you to the local people who continue to support NCDI in all their work & fundraising.

NCDI hope you can make it to the AGM on Wednesday 26th March at 8pm.
