Eany Celtic U12’s celebrate winning the Donegal Schoolboys League South Division U12 League title at the Lakeside Centre in Ballyshannon.

Eany Celtic battled both Erne Wanderers and the elements to clinch the South Division Under 12 title in the Lakeside Centre, Ballyshannon. Knowing that a win was required they duely obliged marching away with a commanding 4-0 victory.

From the off Eany Celtic looked determined and were rewarded with two goals inside the opening ten minutes of the game.

Firstly Nathan Maxwell pounced on a loose ball on the edge of the area to fire high over Erne Wanderers keeper Joshua Myles’ head.

Caoimhe Walsh added the second goal minutes later when she recieved the ball on the right hand side of the box before drilling a low shot past the keeper. Eany could have had a third on 24 minutes when Dermot McGuckin raced away from the Erne defence only for Mark McGlynn to catch up and make a timely intervention.

Erne Wanderers best chance of the first half fell to Jakub Napierski who curled an effort narrowly wide.

As the sun came out in the second half Eany Celtic upped their game again as Erne Wanderers offered little resistance and Rhyss Boyle was unlucky to be denied by an outstretched leg of Joshua Myles.

The Erne Wanderers keeper was called upon again midway through the half when he stayed tall to deny Josh Maxwell. However Joshua Myles could do little about the third goal as Thomas White recieved the ball 20 yards out, he arrowed a strike in off the upright to the delight of the Eany Celtic following.

A fourth and final goal was added 3 minutes from time when Dermot McGuckin popped up in the box before effortlessly sliding the ball underneath the onrushing keeper.
