The book of evidence against Mark Cassidy is almost ready, Letterkenny District Court heard today

Cassidy of Apartment 3, Grianan Vale, Ballyderowen, Burnfoot, is charged with possession of explosives in suspicious circumstances at the same address on February 17th.

He is also charged with unauthorised possession of ammunition.

He appeared in court but his barrister Peter Nolan said there would be no application for bail.

Inspector Goretti Sheridan said the majority of the work in the investigation has been done with the exception of two forensic reports which are awaited from Dublin.

Mr Nolan said he could not oppose an extension of the remand in custody adding that it is “quite a complicated case”.

The case was adjourned to Harristown District Court on Friday.
