To mark the occasion of their first year of broadcasting, the online radio station Inishowen Live announces a great new songwriting competition “A song for Inishowen.”

Inishowen Live wants to hear from aspiring songwriters.

Inishowen Live wants to hear from aspiring songwriters.

The station says it is calling all talented song writers from Inishowen, or inspired by Inishowen!

“We’re looking for a song to bring Inishowen to the world stage.

“We’re asking you to write a song on the theme “Life In Inishowen” – which could be any aspect of life in Inishowen, from making tea in your kitchen, to the Northern Lights or the Wild Atlantic Way!

“Send it in to us and our distinguished panel of judges, which includes renowned Inishowen songwriters Patsy Cavanagh and Finbarr Doherty, will pick out a shortlist of finalists.”

Then there will be a Grand Final Concert at the Strand Hotel, Ballyliffin on Friday 30th May when everyone will be able to come along, hear all the finalists’ songs performed live, and vote for their favourite.

The lucky winner will receive a free recording session at one of Donegal’s top recording studios as well as a cash prize and the winning song will be broadcast to the world!
