Students from a Donegal student look like they have the brains to make plenty of bread in their chosen careers.

The 5th and 6th class students of St Eunan’s NS, Raphoe and their teacher Mrs Anita Keeve were selected to present their science project “Yeast Is Alive” in Stormont in Belfast to promote hands on science in classrooms across Northern Ireland.P1050339

Lisa Connolly, a scientist and lecturer in Queens University, Belfast visited the class and inspired the students to think about science around us and the possibilities for science in the future.

As part of the project the students visited O’Donnell’s Bakery and invited Karl Murtagh into the school to give a master class in cooking with yeast.

These students from St Eunan’s NS were the only school in all of the Republic of Ireland to be selected to present their project in Stormont.
