BREAKING NEWS: Fire crews from Glenties and Killybegs are battling a major blaze at a forest.
The scene of the fire is on the Ardara Road outside Glenties.
Brave fire officers are attempting to control the fire but acres of forestry have been blackened in the incident.
Crews were alerted at 3am today and continued to fight the fire all day as temperatures soared.
A Glenties fire brigade spokesman said: “It is a very serious fire and we are being assisted by colleagues from Glenties at the moment.”
He said it was the 20th gorse or forest fire in the past 10 days.
The same crews have tackled several of those incidents.
