Gaeil Fhánada 2-12 v Downings 0-7

Gaeil Fhánada Seniors enjoyed a solid home performance that saw them power past neighbours Na Dúnaibh in Portsalon.

A good start by the home side with a point from Seami ‘Nanny’ Friel. Na Dúnaibh threw many men behind the ball, then Bryan McGinley (no8) was black carded just 5 mins into game, but it did little to stop a relentless Gaeil Fhánada side who kept the pressure on throughout.

Seami ‘Nanny’ Friel racked up an impressive personal tally of 1:05. Ronan McAteer got our other goal in a clinical performance with points coming from throughout the squad with great scores from play from Patrick McConigley and Fergal Friel.

The home team running out comfortable winners.

Gaeil Fhánada: Mark McConigley, Joe Blaney, Fergal Friel (0-1), Cathal Martin, Ronan McAteer (1-0), Patrick McConigley (0-1), Jimmy Coyle (0-1), Ryan McGonigle, Michael Sweeney, Aidan McAteer, Seami ‘Nanny’ Friel (1-5, 4fs), Martin McAteer (0-1), Oisin Shiels (0-1), Mark Friel (0-1), Seimi Friel (0-1). Subs: Frank Sweeney for J Coyle 45 mins, Johnny Friel for S ‘Coshia’ Friel 47 mins, Brian McVeigh for O Shiels 53 mins, Ken Dempsey and Paul Coyle for R McAteer and P McConigley 55 mins, Shaun McGovern for A McAteer 59 mins. Referee: Enda McFeely.

Doire v Dún na nGall in Celtic Park
Anyone wishing to put their name in for tickets for the Derry v Donegal game should do so immediately as I have to send in my order tonight. We only have 100 in total. Those who had their names in by the deadline are guaranteed tickets, however there may be a draw for anyone now applying.

Cóineartú / Confirmations
Best wishes to all the boys and girls making their Confirmation this Saturday May 17th. Enjoy your day!
