Speculation is mounting that Ballyliffin Golf Club are set to make an approach to the European Tour regarding the possibility of them hosting the prestigious Irish Open event in 2019.  Ballyliffin Golf Club

Ballyliffin Golf Club has already staged top quality events in the form of the Challenge Tour and a number of European Senior tour events.

The course is highly regarded throughout Ireland, the stunning course boasts two championship links courses – The Old Links and The Glashedy Links.

It’s Ireland’s most northerly golf course, and has drawn acclaim for its spectacular setting and outstanding presentation standards throughout the year.

The Inishowen club is considering making an approach amid speculation that Royal Portrush could stage the 2019 British Open.

If the Irish Open was to be held in Ballyliffin, it would represent a major boost to the local economy in Inishowen, and would be welcomed by the tourism sector in the county.
