A Charity 5k run and 40k cycle is being held this Saturday in Maghery, with all proceeds raised going towards a Nursery School and Orphanage in Tanzania, East Africa. 
Registration for both events take place at Maghery Community Centre from 5pm, with both events scheduled to start at around 6pm.
The entry fee is just €5 and refreshments will be served afterwards in the community centre.
Local woman Maria Doherty, from Dungloe, is going out to teach in Tanzania during the summer, and organisers of the event are hoping for a large crowd to come out and support Maria, before she heads off to East Africa for the summer.
With all proceeds raised going to such a worthwhile cause, it’s hoped by all involved in the event, that a large crowd comes out in support of the event.
