Governor Haley: Praised by Donegal company

A PRESTIGIOUS Donegal company is set to reverse the trend of Foreign Direct Investment – by expanding into the United States.

Inishowen-based E&I Engineering Ltd., a provider of switchgear and power distribution solutions throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, plans to invest $17 million to establish its first U.S. operations in Anderson County, South Carolina.

The investment is expected to create 250 jobs over the next five years.

E&I will acquire the vacant 50,000-square-foot Supreme facility on Harris Bridge Road with plans to expand the complex to 150,000 square feet to accommodate manufacturing of its products.

E&I has more than 650 employees across its European headquarters and its plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The American jobs are being supported by local government agencies.

“The E&I Group has been highly impressed by the support and assistance offered to us by many of the South Carolina government departments. … We congratulate Governor Nikki Haley in running a highly efficient and well-organised, business-friendly state,” said Damian McCauley, group production director for E&I Engineering said.
