NoelMcBrideFINE Gael’s Noel McBride is considering a recount of his votes – and those of namesake Michael McBride.

It’s understood there is a significant difference between the pre-poll tallies and the actual vote in the Letterkenny electoral area.

Noel McBride’s team have compared tallies from their own party as well as Sinn Fein and Fianna Fail and believe up to 80 votes may have gone to independent Michael McBride by mistake.

Noel McBride currently sits on 833 votes after three counts.

Michael McBride as 1,144 after three counts.
