THERE is widespread heartache and disbelief at the death of one young Donegal man and the illness of his friend after a house party in St. Johnston earlier this morning.

Oisin Crawford was just 22. Tearful relatives and friends are trying to come to terms with his tragic passing.

At the same time they are saying prayers for friend Simon Lynch, another very popular young man in east Donegal who is critically ill at Letterkenny General Hospital.

Both young men are believed to have taken pills from a dangerous batch of ecstasy tablets which have been at the centre of a national warning from Gardai.

The HSE said it believed the drugs were known as Double Cross or Double Black.

Health authorities have issued an urgent warning to other young people NOT to take the drugs. Three other people – including an 18-year-old girl – were also treated in hospital.

Ambulances sped to Main Street in St Johnston just after 4.30am, with Gardai arriving later.

The close-knit and quiet village of St.Johnston has been rocked by today’s devastating news.

Tributes from heartbroken friends and relatives, have been pouring in on Oisin’s Facebook account.

Emma Browne posted, “Can’t believe ur gone buddy! Such a shock! Wee toon won’t be the same! Rest in peace pet! Xxx

Debra McGinley posted, “RIP Oisín Crawford so hard to believe terrible news, Thoughts and prayers with you family and friends  x

Dominic Lynch posted, “RIP lad cant believe ur gone lad  ule be sadly missed!!

Sarah Lafferty posted a picture of herself along with Oisin, and wrote under the picture, “Such sad news , thinking on your friends & family. Rest in peace.

Alisha McLaughlin posted, “Cant believe it audi! No more takin the hand outy me for bein crabbit! God truly only takes the best:( sleep tight up there x

Family member Evin Devenney posted, “RIP Oisín, your gonna be missed by many cousins! I know Granny Rose will look after you and that both of you will look after all the Duddy clan. Still waiting for someone to wake us up from this bad dream. Sleep tight lad xx

Tamera McDevitt posted, “All them times when I left school early and came down to you at work and I would persuade you that you were hungry and you’d eventually take an early lunch and get food for us in the castle  I’m Gona miss you sorely  sleep tight big cuz! x

Lisa Wilson posted, “Cant stop cryin all morning buddy miss ya so much …its not fair hi …wish dis was all a bad dream :(:(:( ….love ya buddy ull never be forgotten xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Forensic experts from the Gardai, carried out a search of the house earlier this morning, and investigations are on-going.

It is hoped that two of those taken to hospital, may be released later this evening, while the other is expected to be released tomorrow.

However, one man is still in a critical condition, and is battling to save his life.

One friend told Simon on his Facebook page: “Pull through buddy. We need you to pull through.”
