COIMÍN AND TAOBHÓG LAND COUNTY BUNSCOIL TITLES

In sun-drenched Páirc Taobhóige, Glenfinn, eight schools battled it out to become this year’s Allianz Cumann na mBunscoil County Div 2 champions in both girls and boys football.

In the girls competition the following schools took part: Scoil Treasa Naofa, Malin; St Naul’s, Keelogs; Sraith Mór, Glendowan and Scoil Taobhóige, Glenfinn. This year saw one of the most thrilling games ever at schools level with Taobhóg and St Naul’s needing extra time to separate them. Taobhóg eventualling winning by a few points.

In the boys section Scoil an Choimín, Glenfinn; Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail, Moville; Fintra NS, Killybegs and Sraith Mór, Glendowan took part. There was certainly some fine displays by the young players and in the end Scoil an Choimín emerged victors for the second successive year with a strong skilful performance all day.

Cumann na mBunscol would like to thank Glenfinn club for the use of its excellent facilities, referees Jason Friel and Gerard McHugh, the ladies from Glenfinn for providing refreshments, and County Star Frank McGlynn who presented the prizes.
