GAA NEWS: URRIS’ JACK DOHERTY SKILLS UP

WELL DONE: Congrats to our under-age player Jack Doherty (CLG Iorras & Cloontagh N.S) who won the Donegal GAA Primary Schools Skills competition in Ballybofey last Friday. He is the County Champion after competing against players from most clubs in the County. Also, well done to Nathan Logue from Carndonagh who came third. So a great evening for the Club, Parish & Inishowen.

CLUB MEETING: There will be a club meeting on Wednesday night at 8.30pm. All welcome.

MATCH “N” WIN: Match “N” Win June 12th: No jackpot winner-numbers drawn: 1, 6, 17 & 18. €15 winners: Nathan Toland, Corvish, Carndonagh, Jonny Mc Laughlin, Isle of Doagh, Kathleen Doherty, Cloontagh, Jimmy Toland, Mindoran and Ciaran Dowds, Burt. Jackpot next week €1,660. Thanks to all our lotto sellers and all who support this weekly lotto.

SENIOR & RESERVES: Mixed results for both teams against Milford on Sunday, Seniors beat Milford by 1-16 to 1-12. A great display all round and two more points secured. Reserve match Urris 3-08 Milford 3-15. Next fixture both teams away to to N. Colmcille (Newton) on Saturday evening at 6.00pm & 7.30pm. Training continues for both teams on Tuesday & Thursday nights.

LADIES FOOTBALL: Ladies are down to play Dungloe at home on Sunday at 12.00 noon.

 

LADIES REFEREE COURSE: Anyone interested in next round of referees course for Ladies Gaelic Football to be held on June 23rd please let David Hession know on 0860538537 asap.

 

TICKETS FOR DONEGAL V ANTRIM MATCH: All tickets orders can be picked up at the clubhouse from 7.30pm on Thursday night.

 

Kellogg’s GAA Cul Camp: in Straid from Monday 30th June to Friday 4th July. Please contact John Friel on 0860523550 for further details and to book a place.

 

UNDER-AGE FIXTURES: U10 teams away to Carndonagh on Tuesday night at 6.30pm in next round of the Go Games. Bus leaving Straid at 5.45Pm. U12 boys & girls home to Carndonagh on Tuesday night at 6.30pm. U10 girls home to Burt at 11-00am on Saturday. Good luck to all teams and their coaches. U14 GIRLS: Well done to the girls on reaching the County semi final. Date and times to be confirmed.

 

BOOT EXCHANGE SCHEME: for Under-age players now up and running: In these times of financial constraints on families the club has introduced this exchange programme-old football boots in good condition that children have out grown can be dropped in or exchanged for a bigger/smaller pair as required. A minimum donation of €5 to the club for the boots that are taken away. Please contact Nichola Lagan on 0866030736 for further information . All boots can be dropped off at all Under-age training/matches.
