THE Michaela Camp is coming back to Donegal.

The week long summer camp for girls set up in memory of Michaela McAreavey will be in Letterkenny this year after a successful first year in Stranorlar.

This year’s camp is at Loreto Convent from July 14 to 18 for girls aged between 11 and 13.

The Michaela Foundation Girls’ Summer Camp is based on 5 core values; Faith, Fashion, Fun, Irish and Wellbeing.

Jam packed with fun activities, here is a little taster of what Campettes will doing— having parties and “ Rocking the Boat” in Faith, unleashing their creativity and individuality making jewellery and customising bags in Fashion, dancing in Fun, learning their favourite pop songs as gaelige in Irish, zumba dancing and drama in wellbeing! All of this will be topped off by a very special Camp Celebration on Friday!

In addition to all of these activities and treats which the girls will be making to bring home, each attendee will also receive a Limited Edition Michaela Foundation Girls’ Summer Camp jersey, unique to Campettes!

Michaela Foundation is aiming to deliver more Camps than ever throughout Ireland due to the awe-inspiring success of the previous two years.

Michaela Foundation has received very impressive feedback from Campettes about their experience.

One Campette said, “Awesome, extraordinary. The best thing I’ve ever done!”

Parents noticed the impact too, one parent posted on Facebook “Enrol your young girl – she will love it! Last year my daughter emerged much more mature and thoughtful.”

Not to mention the benefits leaders’ obtain from participation, “I benefitted greatly from the camp. I gained friends for life and skills that I can use time and time again.”

John McAreavey from Michaela Foundation told Donegal Daily: “We are delighted to be able to spread the camp to 12 venues this summer, including Donegal.

“Several camps were full within 12 hours of registration opening this year, which I think shows just how much the Campettes enjoyed it and how much parents valued it last year.

“We have a great team of volunteers at our Donegal camp in Letterkenny. They having been putting in lots of hard work to ensure each Campette will have a fun, enriching and memorable week! I would encourage people to sign up soon, as places are going fast.”
