Aidan Callaghan backed up his performance in Camlough with a comfortable victory in the National Series Sprint Triathlon in Mullaghmore Co.Sligo. He improved his time from last year by over two minutes

He led from start to finish in ideal racing conditions in the picturesque seaside resort. There was a big turnout from the club with some very good performances and some significant improvements from the 2013 race. It was the first sea swim for a few members and they all acquitted themselves admirably.

The club had two juniors participating, Stefan McCrossan in his first event and Christine Russell winning her age category. At the time of going to press we did not have all the results so will hold off until next week before publishing.

On the international front Nicholas Fowell and Colin Dean competed in the UK half iron man competition in Exmoor Somerset with Nick qualifying for the world half Iron man championship in Canada in September as a result of his excellent performance. Colin was carrying a bug all week and did Trojan work to complete the course all things considered.

Evelyn Boyle is flying the flag this week taking part in the European Duathlon in England.

On the local front there were two five ks with some impressive performances at the Loughside five K and the Lifford five k with Michael Black winning the Inaugural five K event based in Roughpark Letterkenny Sabrina mackay winning her first category prize at the same event in and Lisa Dalton performing very well in Lifford.
