The Schools’ Business Partnership is delighted to announce that Donegal Investment Group has concluded the eighth successful year in their Skills @ Work programme for students of Deele College, Raphoe.
The initiative provided firsthand insight into the business world to senior cycle students from Deele College, Raphoe and is part of the Schools’ Business Partnership programme run by Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI).
During the year long programme, employees of Donegal Investment Group provided a number of talks on, ‘A Day in the Life of …’ and background of the organisation; they ran workshops on how to build a comprehensive CV and develop good interview skills.
The students were also brought on a site visit to Waterwheel Farm, Killygordon and saw the various career opportunities that exist within the agricultural, food and business sectors.
“The impact that this initiative has on the students is visible right from day one, it generates an interest and motivation for the students to succeed and to continue to work hard on their studies.
“The partnership has been invaluable to the school over this year and develops positively with every successive year.” said Michael Gallagher, Business Teacher, Deele College, Raphoe.
