HARPS WORK HARD TO GET BACK TO WINNING WAYS

Perfect conditions at Finn Park resulted in a perfect scoreline for Finn Harps as they beat Waterford to snatch a much-needed 1-0 win.

Harps were always on top in this game which saw a troubled Waterford side threaten only on a rare occasion in each half.

The teams went in scoreless at half-time but the combination of Kevin McHugh, Ruairi Keating supported by Mickey Funston always looked threatening.

It was Keating who snatched the only goal of the game in the 53rd minute when he raced through to slot past the visiting goalkeeper Burns.

McHugh and sub Sean McCarron should have added to the Harps tally.

Ollie Horgan will be happy with the three points against a disjointed Waterford team who lacks ideas in the last third of the pitch.
