Tir Chonaill Gaels PicTir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes:

Seniors:

The senior team started their championship campaign last Sunday against Neasden Gaels at Ruislip and left with a disappointing result.

Neasden got the better of us to record a one point win, and in doing so putting us under pressure to win our remaining two games to have a chance of qualifying for the semis.

Some of the better performances on the day came from Brian Ross, Mark Gottsche and Joe Feeney. Final Score TCG 2-8 Neasden Gaels 1-12.

Juniors:

Our junior team had a mighty battle against Eir Og last Saturday at Greenford but came out the wrong side of a two point defeat. We just could not manage to get our noses in front and fought to the very end but it was not to be.

Best on the day were Cormac McGarvey, Kevin Mc Fadden, Patrick O’Connor and Kevin Browne. Final Score TCG 1-9, Eir Og 1-11.

Fixtures:

Tuesday 8th July, SFL Div1, TCG V Fulham Irish @ Ruislip 7.30pm

Thursday 10th July, SFL Div1, TCG V St Kiernans @ Mill Hill 7.30pm

Thursday 10th July, FL Div3, TCG V Thomas McCurtains @ Greenford 7.30pm

Condolences:

The club would like to pass on our condolences to two former players who sadly lost a loved one in the past week.

Maurice Somers lost his father Maurice senior who passed away at his home in Drumaness, Co Down last Monday 30th June after a long illness.

Gerard Boyle from Killybegs, Co Donegal received the sad and unexpected news that his mother Marie passed away on Sunday 6th July.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Maurice, Gerry and their families at this very difficult time. May they rest in peace.

Best Wishes:

The club would like to pass on our best wishes to Irish World sports editor Damian Dolan who has left the newspaper to take up a post working at London Welsh rugby club in Richmond. We thank Damian for his help and support over the many years and his great journalism in covering Gaa in London.
