Oisin Merritt has awoken from his coma, and asked how Brazil are doing at the World Cup!!

Oisin Merritt, 19, plunged from a balcony while on holiday with friends in Santa Ponsa on June 9th.

At one stage the family of the Finn Harps Reserves player admitted that he was showing no signs of improvement and pleaded with people to pray for him.

A huge online campaign began for the young man from Stranorlar.

However, just a few days later Oisin’s pressure reading reduced which was a small but significant improvement in his condition.

Today his sister Tara revealed that Oisin has made a miraculous recovery.

And she revealed that the first words from the football-mad teenager where how his favourite team Brazil were doing!

“Oisin started to eat and drink water for the first time yesterday afternoon and has continued this today.

“Today Oisin started to speak and say his first words to me.

“He is asking about the World Cup and how Brazil are doing, as he has a bet on!

“He is looking for a TV in his room,” revealed Tasha.

She said medics are saying that the young Irishman has been reborn.

“He has a long recovery ahead, and doctors came in this afternoon to us and said he is like a second birth, born again that he is like a miracle.

“Thank you everyone so much for your prayers and good wishes,” she said

Oisin’s family and his girlfriend Josephine O’Neill have been by his bedside for the past number of weeks praying for him to recover.
