A very entertaining game between the two Rovers before a large crowd at Swilly park.
The pitch was in immaculate crucible condition and some lovely football was played.
Letterkenny went ahead on 23 minutes when Kevin Mc Grath fired home in some style following a Jason Doherty cross.
Corey Mc Cahill leveled matters on 33 minutes when he scored from the spot after he was fouled by a Letterkenny defender.
Aaron Murray then went close for swilly with a piledriver.
Duncan Patterson with a brilliant curled effort put Swilly in front but within a minute Letterkenny were level when Kevin O’ Donnell volleyed home a Luke Friel cross.
Swilly were dealt a cruel double blow losing Ryan Shields and Corey Mc Cahill to injury in the first half and this affected their rhythm.
In the final half hour Letterkenny added a furthur three goals.
Adrian Delap crossed for Jason Doherty to head home to put Letterkenny ahead.
Kevin O Donnell made it four and Luke Friel headed home to make it five.
