DONEGAL Orangemen will lead the Fermanagh 12th march in Irvinestown today – and bring it to a halt in protest at the refusal of the North’s parades commission to allow a march through a nationalist area in north Belfast.
A parade will be allowed through Ardoyne this morning, but a return leg will be banned.
There are fears of widespread violence this weekend as a result.
However the Orange Order says it will have controlled protests; stopping parades for six minutes in solidarity with its north Belfast lodges.
The lodges from Donegal, Leitrim, Cavan and Monaghan will head the parade of 100 lodges and 70 bands in Irvinestown. They will stop the parade as part of the protests across the six counties.
