UNDER 16 BOYS LEAGUE

Our Under 16 lads recorded a great victory over local rivals St Marys Convoy on Friday evening in Convoy. The early stages of the game had a world Cup feel to it as Convoy lead 2 goals to one. Our lads finished the half very strongly and went into halftime on a scoreline of 2-05 to 2-00. Convoy came out a different team after the interval and scored 1-02 without reply to draw level. Despite this our lads showed great character and reserve to fight back and went on to record a 3-08 to 3-05 victory. this was an outstanding performance with everybody contributing against a fine Convoy team. The lads were unbeaten and topped their group. Quarter final dates TBC.

as a unit. Great overall team performance.Scorers for Mac Cumhaills were ,Ellen Keegan,Demi Buchanan, Courtney O Brien, Aine Bogle, Aoife Gillespie and Cliodhna Kelly.

UNDER 14 ALL COUNTY SEMI FINAL

U14 semifinal played in Mountcharles on Saturday in very wet and slippery conditions. Killybegs started better and it wasn’t long until they were 1-1 up to no score.

Back came Mac Cumhaills with good points from Mc Sorley,Gallen and Bruton. Killybegs pushed ahead again with good points from Ryan Cunningham.A high ball in to Killybegs defence saw Joel Bradley Walsh get the break and hit it low into the corner of the net, Both teams exchanged points to go in level at half time 1-6 each.

The second half seen Mac Cumhaills start brighter with points from Mc Sorely,Keegan and Gallen but Killybegs hit back with another goal. A great pass by Joel Bradley Walsh seen Daire Mc Cafferty collect the ball in front of goals and slot in into the net. You would of thought it was game over at that stage but Killybegs came back again with a Ryan Cunningham point and a goal to leave the Mac Cumhaills boys down by a point down with a few minutes left,Mc Cumhaills won the kick out and a long ball in to Joel saw him tuck away a goal and a Chad Mc Sorley point put the lads over the line.
