SADNESS AS DOLPHIN FOUND DEAD IN RIVER FOYLE

A dolphin which attracted large crowds to the River Foyle over the weekend has sadly died.

People flocked to see the Dolphin as he happily swam and performed tricks much to the amusement of the crowd.

However, on Tuesday it became clear that something was drastically wrong with the dolphin and that it needed help.

Then yesterday it was confirmed that the dolphin in fact had died.

Locals have expressed anger at the statutory authorities claiming they made no attempt to save the dolphin.

They said the alarm was raised on Tuesday that the dolphin was not well but the relevant authorities chose not to act upon people’s concerns for the dolphins safety.

One local expressed their sadness at the passing of the dolphin, “It’s very sad, he was in such good from earlier in the week, and we all loved going down to catch a glimpse of him.

“The children loved him, and he seemed to enjoy the attention as you see from the video taken off him.

“It’s very sad he’s now died, and something more should have been done to try and save him, when it became clear he was ill.
