The successful Donegal Town U11 team.

The U11 soccer team from Donegal Town brought great honour to their club with a stunning success at the Foyle Cup tournament last week.

Going into the tournament for only the second time, they surpassed expectations by taking home the Shield following a determined and

skillful set of displays throughout the week..

The tournament started slowly for them on the first day with a nervous performance leading to a 2 nil loss to Top of the Hill Celtic.

Finding their feet on day two brought two much improved performances, unlucky not to beat Dungannon in a 1 all draw, before beating Lifford Celtic 1 nil.

Day 3 started with a convincing 2 nil win over Don Bosco, followed by a 2 nil loss to a strong Oxford team.

On to the Shield semifinal on day 4 where they were again convincing 2 nil winners over Foyle Harps.

Day 5 capped the week off with a battling performance in the shield final, rewarded with a 2 1 victory over Glentoran.

Congratulations to all the players involved, who have done their families and club proud this week.
