It now appears that the post-office at Bunbeg will remain open – for the foreseeable future.An-Post

There had been fears for locals in Gaoth Dobhair that the An Post outlet would close.

A meeting attended by more than 200 local people expressed their concerns over the possible loss of the post office.

However, in March a three month contract was awarded to the local postmistress.

A source at An Post has now admitted that it is now unlikely the Bunbeg will close this year.

However, he could not say what the plans are for the area next year.
