SHE may just have left school but Sab Medlar’s clothing business has really taken off – and adding a wonderful splash of colour to the Donegal summer.

Sab’s idea was very simple – tie-dye t-shirts in a range of colours to order.

They’re even available in the Donegal GAA colours; and the colours of the county’s clubs.

“I always thought that tie-dye was such a happy look! After answering a lot of questions like “where did you buy your t-shirt?” I thought I’d give it a rattle!” said Sab.

“I’m a student of Loreto Letterkennny and I sat the Leaving Cert exams this summer. I’ve a keen interest in business and in art so I decided to give this my best shot as a summer job and looked forward to the whole learning experience.”

And she certainly did – a range of her t-shirts can be seen at ‘SAB’S Tie-Dye T-Shirts’ on Facebook.

Said the Letterkenny girl: “I’ve been making and selling t-shirts for several weeks now and I am over the moon that there has been so much demand for them!

“I use quality cotton t-shirts, quality dylon dye and I hand dye each t-shirt carefully. Between wetting, tying, dying, wrapping, rinsing, hosing, ironing, folding and finally packing I have to put care and time into each individual t-shirt, every t-shirt is unique!

“Each tee is packed with a personalised message and would make a lovely gift for a friend as well as to be worn by the buyer.”

Here’s how to get a t-shirt and how to see them:

The best way to see my t-shirts is to go to the Facebook page ‘SAB’S Tie-Dye T-Shirts’ you can message the page with your order.

You can pay using paypal. One t-shirt is €10 or you can get three for €25. The tie-dye Ts are tailor made for each customer they choose their designs, colours and sizes and I do the rest. They’re perfect for music festivals, parties, surfing trips, dancing teams, GAA clubs, hen nights and much more! ‘SAB’S Tie-Dye T-Shirts’ on Facebook.
