GAA NEWS: LETTERKENNY GAELS EARN CRUCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP WIN OVER ST MARYS CONVOY

The Senior team played their fourth Championship game in Group 2 of the Junior A Championship last weekend and recorded a good victory over St. Marys Convoy which means they have now qualified for the next round.

The team welcome a well deserved break for the next couple of weeks.

Training continues as usual at Pairc nanGael every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm.

New players always welcome.

Pairc na nGael welcomed the Og Sport qualifiers last Saturday with teams from Mc Cools, Convoy, Termon and GaothDobhair taking part.

Mc Cools and Termon made it through to the County Finals which will take place at the pitch on the 23rd August where the Gaels as host club have also qualified.

The U-16 team put up a spirited display against Naomh Colmcille on Monday evening but were beaten by a strongerteam.

U-16 training continues at Pairc na nGael every Wednesday & Friday at 5.30pm

Thanks to all who helped out at the bag pack in Tesco on Saturday last.

Our U-16 Hurlers put it up to Burt last week in the league but lost out by 2 points. Final score Letterkenny 1-05 1-07 Burt.

The U-13 season starts this Wednesday with their first game away to St. Michaels.

Good luck to Oisin Cannon & the Donegal Minors who play Roscommon in the All-Ireland Quarter-final in Sligo on Saturday.

Throw in 3pm.

The club would like to say a special word of thanks to

Thomas Mc Ginty who erected the flag poles at Pairc na nGael in the recent weeks.

Lotto numbers for last weekend were 9, 13, 17 & 24. No

Jackpot winner.

Lucky dip winner is Ann Calpin, Friends of the Gaels.

U-6 & U10 Football continues every Sunday morning at

11am at Pairc na nGael while the U-8’s is on both Sunday morning & Wednesday evening from 7-8pm.

We are currently looking for girls aged 9-12 to join our U-12 Gaelic Football squad.

Training on Wednesday evening from 6.30-7.30pm Contact Jim Farrell on 086 0566893 for more details.

The Secondary School Girls Camogie team travelled to Derry at the weekend to play Na Magha and came away with a good win.

Camogie training continues every Tuesday evening at Pairc na nGael from 6-7pm for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th class. 5th, 6th class & Secondary school on Monday evening 6-7.30pm at Pairc na nGael.

The club hosted the U-8 & U-10 Hurling blitz in Convoy on Sunday morning.

Thanks to all who attended and helped out.

Hurling training for U-6, U-8, U-10 and U-12 continues at the pitch every Thursday evening from 6.30-7.30pm.

Hurley’s and helmets provided for training.
