GAYBO CELEBRATING HIS 80TH BIRTHDAY IN HIS BELOVED DONEGAL

GayboGAY Byrne is spending his 80th birthday – in his beloved Donegal.

Gaybo, with Kathleen and his two daughters and grandchildren, are looking forward to his milestone celebration on Tuesday.

They’re spending their time at his holiday home in the Rosses…and going for a good walk!

The television legend has been coming to Donegal with his family for 40 years.

“We bought a little house in Donegal more than 40 years ago, and it has been a haven of rest and tranquility from a busy life ever since,” he said recently

“Our family will always be run-ins, even after all that time, but we’re never made to feel that we are, and it has been always the warm welcome and kind generosity of the Donegal people that has made every visit a joy for us, just as if we were of their stock.

“And it is the kind and welcoming friends in Donegal who have made us feel at home through the years,” he said.

Gay will be celebrating his milestone birthday in Donegal with his family and is still in fine fettle as a result of his passion for walking, cycling and working.

And although he continues to do his Lyric FM show, after eight decades on the earth he wants to enjoy life a bit more.

He added: “I’m letting things go gradually, things I would be involved in, so I have more time to do what I want to do.”
