COUNCIL CLOSES ROAD AMIDST FEARS OF BRIDGE COLLAPSE AFTER FLOODS

Donegal County Council have closed a stretch of road between Cranford and Carrigart amid over fears that a bridge is on the verge of collapsing.

The bridge is located on the R245 at Devlinreagh.

The council said that remedial works will take place on the bridge for safety reasons and this will take up to a week to complete.

“An alternative route is available from Milford to Carrigart via the R246 and the L-1132 Kerrykeel to Tamney and Harry Blaney Bridge. It is expected that remedial works will take at least a week,” said a council statement.

The Council said it apolgises for any inconvenience casued to road users.
