FLOOD FALL-OUT: IT’S the second time in just a few days that Donegal was EXCLUDED from national weather warnings.

Last Saturday Met Eireann issued weather warnings for several parts of Ireland. The forecast said Donegal would escape any major downpours….

And then at lunchtime the heavens opened and there was flood waters in many areas.

Yesterday no new official warnings were issued.

There was just a mention of ‘spot flooding in Ulster’.

And then the heavens opened again; and this time it was much more serious as one of the worst thunder storms in years hit Donegal.

Community spirit saved the day – and lives.

People in Ramelton waded through torrents of water to rescue children at a band practice. In Letterkenny local heroes barricaded the emergency department to keep the worst of the water out.

And there’s still no word of a weather warning….
