Aodh Ruadh’s Senan Rooney will take to the hallowed turf of Croke Park this Sunday at half-time in the All-Ireland semi-final between Kilkenny and Limerick.
Aodh Ruadh GAA Notes
Hurling
The underage leagues continued last Thursday with varying degrees of success for our teams.
Our under 12s, the majority of whom were under 10 due to players missing with injuries, suffered a heavy defeat away to Setanta.
They tried hard, but were up against a more skilful and physical team. Many thanks to the parents who drove the lads to the game.
The under 12s are away to Burt this Thursday.
The under 16s were at home to Letterkenny Gaels.
Despite only having 14 players due to injuries and holidays they ran out convincing winners in a very one-sided clash.
They face a very difficult game this Thursday at home to table-toppers Buncrana, throw in at 7pm.
Many thanks to the underage hurlers and their parents who helped out at our bag packing fund-raiser in Supervalu, Bundoran on Saturday last.
Your help and support was much appreciated.
Much thanks to Des Cogrove and his staff for allowing us the opportunity to bag pack in his shop.
On Tuesday the minors played old rivals Buncrana in the Championship Final in O’ Donnell Park, Letterkenny.
This Sunday we have our annual trip to Croke Park for the All-Ireland semi-final.
This year’s game between Kilkenny and Limerick should be a great encounter.
Of added interest to our trip this year is the presence of one of our under 12 players on the field in Croke Park.
Senan Rooney is taking part in the Cumann na mBunscoil half-time games representing Creevy National School.
This is a great honour for the school, the club, the player himself and his family.
