Páirc Uí Shiadhail in Portsalon was the venue for the Gaeil Fhánada Rás 5k and fun walk.

The runners and walkers enjoyed the scenic Ard glass and Corry and coasted downhill all the way back to the club house where competitors enjoyed a cup of tea on a beautiful summers evening.

Well done to all competitors in particular the many families who supported the event.

Pride of place on the night went to young Kevin Logue from Ballinacrick, running for Cranford AC with a hugely impressive time of 18.32 on a challenging course followed by Damien Mc Bride of Milford AC.

Doaghbeg native Marie Mc Ateer was the first lady over the line with a time of 24.41 followed by fellow Fanad AC athlete Martina Carr.

Australia’s Simon Chodziesner won the over 50 category while Maire Callaghan and Aidan Sweeney were prizewinners in the over 45 category.

Comhghairdeas le gach duine a ghlac páirt agus mile buíochas d’achan duine a chuidigh ar an oiche.
