Approximately 175 running and walking enthusiasts turned up in Glenties yesterday evening for the annual Naomh Conaill 5k.

The club would like to say a big thank you to all who attended on what threatened to be a wet evening but stayed mostly dry throughout.

Local GAA stars Leo Mc Loone and Dermot Brick Molloy were on hand to present the prizes afterwards.

Ciaran Doherty from the Letterkenny AC club was first home in an impressive time of 15.46.

He was followed home by local man Dermot Brennan (Finn Valley AC) in a time of 16.47.

First home in the Ladies section was Caroline Boyle, London (formerly Ardara) in a time of 20.48.

In the over 40s section first lady home was Margaret Sweeney from Lettermacaward and Finbar Gallagher (Innishowen AC) was first in the mens.

The under 16 girls was won by Ellie Mc Donnell and the boys section was won by Charlie Mc Donnell.

The club would also like to say a huge thank you to all who helped in any way with the evenings success, especially the ladies who served the tea and home-baking which was enjoyed by all after the race.

Thank you also to the Highlands Hotel and Kennedys Bar and restaurant who sponsored prizes on the evening.
