GOLF NEWS: DAMIEN MULHERN TOP OF THE PILE AT MURVAGH

Men’s Competitions

Sunday 17th of August – Sponsored by Gleesons. Singles v Par.

The arrival of some Autumnal weather made for tough scoring in this V Par competition and it was Damien Mulhern and Conal Callaghan who conquered the conditions best with scores of -2 with Damien taking 1st place on a break of tie.

Michael McGarvey in 3rd and Liam Mundy in 4th on -3 were also separated on a break of tie.

Open days were held at the club from Wednesday the 13th to Saturday the 15th with a large number of visitors playing. Neil Johnston took the honours on Wednesday and Saturday while Paul Murphy made a winning return to the game on Thursday and Eamonn Duffy topped the leaderboard on Friday. Helen O’Shea won with a super score of 38pts. Runner up was visitor Jennifer Flanagan with 33pts with Miriam Gartland from The Island in 3rd place.

Helen Mills will enjoy her voucher from Solis Lough Eske after winning 1st prize in this sponsored competition with 36pts. Bernie Treacy and Dorothy Woods were 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Upcoming events

The Ladies Outing to Ballybofey/Stranorlar takes place this Saturday 23rd August, returning to the Abbey Hotel for dinner and presentation of prizes. Check out the notice in the Ladies Locker Room for availability of places.
