GOLF LOGOLETTERKENNY LADIES GOLF

Lady Captain, Catherine Cooke-Harkin had a very successful and enjoyable Captain’s Day last Saturday.

While the weather was not what we have enjoyed in June and July, the wind and showers did not deter 60 ladies competing for her prize.

The winner of the 2 day event was Monica Mc Donagh, playing of 19 and with an aggregate score of 69. It must be Monica’s year as she also had a nice win in the Lotto Game Show in the summer and especially nice to win Lady Captain’s in the year that her husband Tom is Captain of the Club. Congratulations to Monica and may your luck and good golf continue for the rest of the season. Runner-Up playing of 11 was Mary Murray with an aggregarate of 68 pts., 3rd: Grainne Hines (24) agg. 64 pts. Gross Category : 1-12 Tracy Spence (10) agg 43 GPts. C at 1 : 1-18 : Veronica McAteer ( 12 ) agg 60 pts., Cat 2 : 19-28: Mary McBride (24) agg 62 pts pts., Cat 3 : 29-36 : Eleanor O’Carroll ( 36) agg 62 pts., Committee : Anne Condon (22) agg 61pts., Past Captains Angela Kilgallen ( 23) agg 59 pts., Senior Lady : Nuala McGarrigle ( 21 ) agg 57 pts.

Congratulations to all the individual winners on Day 1, Rena O’Herlihly (29) was the winner with 36pts and Day 2, Cathy Marren(36) won with 35pts. The putting competition was won by Marian O Sullivan. Sinead Nangle won the non qualifiers. The mixed foursome was won by Cynthia Furey and Cliff Malone. The scramble was won by Kay Kelly, Mary Beth Mc Breaty and Sinead Nangle. The Captain’s Shoot out was won by Sandra Mc Monagle.

The gent’s prize was won by Martin Gallagher and the Category 4 prize was won by John Henderson. Lady Captain, Catherine presented a table of fantastic prizes and many ladies enjoyed the surprise of hearing their name called as scores were not revealed until prize giving. The Ladies Club would like to thank Catherine for hosting a great day and evening of good food and dancing. She really deserves to rest up before the teaching duties begin again.

The draw is on the notice board for Mr President’s Prize to the Ladies and will be played on the 28th Aug. There are still several competitions to be played, so plenty of golf to be enjoyed in September. Lady Captain’s outing is to Roe Valley in Limavady and all enquires to Anne Flannery and Karen Crawford.
