A Donegal soccer club are on a high after a surprise visit by one of Ireland’s best-known soccer officials.

Gweedore Celtic Youth Academy welcomed FAI CEO, John Delaney, to An Screabán after fulfilling a promise he made a number of years ago.

He came to see developments at An Screabán and was impressed by the newly laid astro surface and our future plans for An Screabán.

The Youth Academy was founded by Shane Barr in the summer of 2012 and was officially launched by Mr Delaney later that same summer.

Since then, the Academy’s membership has grown substantially and we look forward to the new season ahead.
