GAA NEWS: NAOMH CONAILL U12 BOYS RETAIN TITLE

Lotto 12/8/14. There was 1 jackpot winner Congratulations to Kate Bonar Ballybofey on winning €8,500. Next week’s jackpot will be €2,000.

The club are having a fundraising draw and are looking for people to help sell in different areas of the parish so if anyone is interested in helping out please contact any club officer.

Approximately 175 running and walking enthusiasts turned up in last Wednesday evening for the annual Naomh Conaill 5k. A big thank you to all who attended on what threatened to be a wet evening but stayed mostly dry throughout. Local GAA stars Leo Mc Loone and Dermot “Brick” Molloy were on hand to present the prizes afterwards. Ciaran Doherty from the Letterkenny AC club was first home in an impressive time of 15.46. He was followed home by local man Dermot Brennan (Finn Valley AC) in a time of 16.47. First home in the Ladies section was Caroline Boyle, London (formerly Ardara) in a time of 20.48.In the over 40s section first lady home was Margaret Sweeney from Lettermacaward and Finbar Gallagher (Innishowen AC) was first in the mens. The under 16 girls was won by Ellie Mc Donnell and the boys section was won by Charlie Mc Donnell. A huge thank you to all who helped in any way to making the evening a success especially Seanie McDevitt. The ladies who baked all day and then served the tea which was enjoyed by all after the race. Thank you also to the Highlands Hotel and Kennedys Bar and restaurant who sponsored prizes on the evening.

Congratulations to our senior team on a great victory over Ardara at home on Sunday last 2-13 to 0-6 in the division 1 league. Two great points.

Congratulations to our u12 boys on a victory over Aodh Ruadh in the a championship on Monday last retaining there title. Well done to all involved.

Naomh conaill minors had a great battle with Aodh Ruadh on Monday night in Glenties and will now take it to a third game.
