The community of Glenties have been continually frustrated by the lack of progress in reinstating this important piece of local infrastructure and the Glenties Community Action Group.

They are now embarking on an awareness drive to attempt and speed up the process of replacing the bridge.

“We were greatly encouraged by the turnout of the public last evening and we wish to thank the local elected representatives who appeared and have so far lent their support to replacing the bridge.

“Our focus or drive will not diminish until Mullantyboyle Bridge is properly replaced and we encourage all the people of Glenties to be as vocal as possible to all our local elected representatives in expressing the importance of replacing this important piece of local infrastructure,” said a spokesman for the group.
