Gerry Adams on top of Errigal today

HE has one of the most recognisable faces in world politics.

So when Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams arrived at the top of Errigal today – and then Tweeted a picture to his followers – he advertised Donegal’s highest mountain to a whole new worldwide audience.

Mr Adams, the TD for Louth and former West Belfast MP, is a regular visitor to Donegal.

And thanks to this snap, more than 63,000 followers on Twitter got to see his journey.

The politician, pictured with his dog, joked: “It’s all downhill from here.”
