Mark English has been called into the Team Europe team for the IAAF Continental Cup in Marrakesh.

Mark English has been called selected for Team Europe team for the IAAF Continental Cup in Marrakesh.

European championship Bronze medallist Mark English has capped a sensational few weeks by earning a call-up to participate for Team Europe at the IAAF Continental Cup later this month.

English has been rewarded for his stunning performance in the final of the 800m at the European Athletics Championships in Zurich in which he secured a Bronze medal.

In total 85 athletes from 24 Member Federation countries will represent Europe at the Continental Cup.

Besides Europe, three other continental teams: Americas (NACAC and CONSUDATLE), Africa and Asia/Pacific (Asia and Oceania), will also be in contention for global supremacy.

Performance at the European Athletics Championships in Zurich was used as the primary criterion for selection of Team Europe.

Two athletes per team will compete in each individual event, while in the 1500m, 3000m, 3000m steeplechase and 5000m each team will be able to field three athletes with the scores of only two athletes taken into account for the overall team tally.

The IAAF Continental Cup to be held in Marrakesh, Morocco, from 13-14 September.
