The Dolmen House in Ramelton

One of Donegal’s most unusual houses has been put on the market with a price tag of a cool €750,000.

The Dolmen House occupies an elevated site of 0.75 acre with an impressive view of Lough Swilly and the surrounding countryside.

Designed by MacGabhann Architects of Letterkenny, a triumph of modern design has produced a highly individual home that is instantly captivating.

The houses 350 sq m form was inspired by Gortnavern Dolmen, a Megalithic Portal Tomb a few metres north of The Dolmen House site.

The inhabitants feel as though they are living within the landscape, because of the ground floor facade, which also maximises the outstanding views and allows the home to optimise substantial amounts of natural light throughout the day.

The house is being sold by Franklin Estate Agent in Letterkenny.
