Manager Jim McGuinness has refused to blame keeper Paul Durcan for Donegal’s All-Ireland Senior Football Final defeat by Kerry at Croke Park today.

Donegal lost out by three points on a scoreline of 0-12 to 2-09,  a mistake by the normally reliable Durcan gifting Kerry a decisive goal.

Speaking after the game, McGuinness said: “We did not perform to level we were hoping to perform to and that is the reason we lost the game.

“Over the 70 minutes we did not deliver what we are capable of delivering.”

Describing Donegal’s performance as “flat” and “lacking energy, he added:  “I would not  go down the road of individual errors –  our collective was just not good enough today and that is very disappointing.”
