NEW APPROACH TAKEN AT AGM OF DONEGAL CARE OF THE AGED

The Annual General Meeting of the Care of the Aged Committees was held recently at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Stranorlar.HSE

A new approach was introduced at this meeting with information stands available to the Care of the Aged Committees.

These stands included the following:

Fair Deal – Nursing Home Support Scheme

Alzheimer`s

Citizens Information

Good Morning Service

Elder Abuse Social Worker.

Psychiatry of Old Age.

Carers Development Officer Continence Care

Grant Aid Agreement Application Forms For Funding, 2015

A total of 19 Committees were present on the night and there were 48 attendees in total. .

The AGM was organised by Susie Houston, Staff Officer, Older Peoples Services under the Service Manager, Gwen Mooney.

Susie stated “This was the first time that we have had information stands available at the AGM of The Care Of The Aged Committees.

“The feedback we have received has indicated that attendees felt this was a positive development and contributed towards and enjoyable and informative evening.

“Therefore this is a practice that we hope to continue at future AGM’s. A special thank you goes to Kathleen Doherty, Director of Nursing at St. Joseph`s Hospital, Stranorlar and her staff for the use of the dining room area and in particular for the tea, coffee and sandwiches provided on the night.’
