Club Notes – Naomh Adhamhnáin – 29.09.14 In Association with Letterkenny Shopping Centre The Seniors and Reserves travelled to Malin last Sunday for their opening Championship group matches and both teams turned in good performances to get the wins they needed to open their campaigns. Jason Ashmore was in good goal scoring form for the Reserves while County Senior star Rory Kavanagh scored our only goal after the lads turned in a strong second half performance to win by 1-17 to 2-06. Both teams take on Naomh Muire this Sunday in O’Donnell Park with the games throwing-in at 1:30 pm and 3pm respectively. All available stewards are asked to be in the Park for 12:45pm. The U16 Boys A team moved into the Northern Championship Final after beating Gaoth Dobhair on Monday night, they will meet either Buncrana or St. Michael’s in the Final next Thursday evening (9th) in Convoy at 7pm. They may also play their all county league semi-final this weekend with details tbc, please keep an eye on social media for confirmation. The development team lost a close game in their Shield match v the Gaels despite a good comeback where the wood work denied them on several occasions. The U13 Hurlers won the North West League Div. 2 defeating teams from Antrim and Derry. They defeated Banagher in the final by 2-07 to 1-05, well done to Eunan O’Donnell and all the players. The U16 girls suffered final heartbreak last Thursday evening in Buncrana after losing to Moville in their county final in a close game that they led with 20 mins to go. No doubt they will come back hungry for silverware next year. The U13 Boys footballers will meet Termon in the Northern Final this Sunday in Glenswilly with an 11am throw-in. All support welcome. The Dev. team are at home this Wednesday to the Gaels with a 6pm throw-in. The U14 girls had a great day last Saturday at the Kilmacud 7-a-side tournament where they gained more valuable experience. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Niamh Ferry. The U13 girls will play Gaoth Dobhair in the county q-finals at the Centre of Excellence in Convoy on Saturday October 18, time to be confirmed. The U12 girls travel to Steelstown this Saturday for a challenge match. The outdoor hurling academy is finishing up this Friday (3rd Oct.) for the end of the outdoor season. The last U8 and U10 Hurling blitz of the season will be held on Sunday in Convoy. Indoor hurling will start in a few weeks. Watch the notes for more details. Don’t forget to download the Club app for just €0.99c. In future this will be replacing the club text system for keeping up to date with all that is happening. The lotto numbers this week are 3-7-20-23. There were 5 x match 3 winners each getting €20. Neil Campbell, Woodland Park; Paul Hannigan, Cornagill; Barry Tinney, Solomons Hill; Eugene Sullivan , The Fairways (all direct debit) and Mr. Gill c/o Adrian (sold by Adrian). Next week’s jackpot is €1,925.
