Seamus Coleman is a doubt for Ireland’s Euro 2016 double-header with Gibraltar and Germany.

Everton stars Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy are major doubts for Ireland’s Euro 2016 double-header with Gibraltar and Germany.

Killybegs native Coleman and McCarthy who qualifies to play for Ireland through his grandfather who comes from Gweedore both picked up niggling injuries against Liverpool at the weekend.

Neither will play any part in Everton’s Europa League clash with Russian side Krasnodar tonight.

However, Everton manager Roberto Martinez is considering asking Ireland manager Martin O’Neil to leave the duo of the Group D encounters next week.

Martinez feels McCarthy is suffering from fatigue and badly needs a rest, while Coleman has picked up a number of injuries of late.

However, Martinez conceded that Coleman could be OK for Everton’s trip to Manchester United at the weekend.

Ireland will need the two Everton stars as they face a crucial double-header in their quest to gain qualification to next European Championships.
