The Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting their hugely popular and ‘terrifyingly scary’ Halloween Fest, which will provide fun and games to all.
On Friday, the 31st of October, the town centre will be filled with entertainment, face painting, trick or treating, a Pet Parade and even some scary dancing.
The festival builds on the success of last year’s event that is now making it’s mark on Letterkenny.
This year the week starts with Letterkenny CDP holding their annual Monster Bash on Sunday 26th October in Letterkenny Community Centre.
Then during the week everyone will be getting into the spirit with decorations, facepainting, characters and lots of fun taking place in Letterkenny Shopping Centre, Letterkenny Retail Parks, The Courtyard Shopping Centre and of course Main Street.
On Friday 31st, businesses across Letterkenny will be participating in a trick or treat trail for all the children and along the way there will be a chance to have your face painted.
You’ll also get to hear some ghoulish stories on Church Lane, play some games at the Courthouse and have your photo taken in our dedicated photobooth in The Courtyard Shopping Centre.
There will also be a fancy dress competitions and lots more.
This year will see the second annual Pet Parade taking place at 4.15pm.
Toni Forrester told Donegal Daily, “Last year we got a small start with over 20 pets and their owners in all kinds of costumes, so this year why not dress up and bring your dog, cat, iguana along and join in the fun.
“It’s just a short parade to end the afternoon activities.
Gerard Grant Chamber President told Donegal Daily, “I’m pleased to launch the ShopLK Halloween Fest this year.
“With just a month to go we are delighted to be working with our ShopLK members, Letterkenny Town Team and Letterkenny CDP who have their own annual Monster Bash and who will be providing out photobooth and Halloween games.
“This year is a real community effort, people love dressing up so why not make it a family occasion this year.
“Last year’s campaign was a massive success with lots of Children and whole families dressing up.
“It was thoroughly enjoyed by the children, parents and the business owners of the town.
“There was a great atmosphere created around the event and it was lovely to see the children having such a good time.
They’re hoping to build on the success of the last two years and make this year’s Halloween Festival the best yet.
They’d love to see as many families and young people as possible come to Main Street and then visit the other shopping areas such as the Retail Parks and Letterkenny Shopping Centre.
There will be prizes, treats and some surprises along the way.
