HUNDREDS OF HOMES WITHOUT ELECTRICITY AFTER MAJOR OUTAGE ACROSS DONEGAL

A major power outage has plunged hundreds of homes across Donegal into darkness this evening.

Major power outages have been reported across Donegal this evening.

The ESB are reporting a power outage at 7pm in the Gortlee area of Letterkenny.

However, the outage has affected power supplies to many parts of the county.

Outages have been reported in the Rosses, Gweedore and Cloughaneely areas as well this evening, while many households have complained of reduced power.

The ESB state that just under 3,000 subscribers are affected and as of 8pm a restore time remains unknown.

It comes as Met Eireann announce the country is bracing itself for the tail-end of a major storm comes up from the Caribbean.
