The community of Carndonagh has been plunged into utter shock this morning, following the double-murder of a couple in their 70’s.
Gardaí made the grim discovery this morning, shortly after 9am.
Gardaí found the husband and wife lying dead in their own homes.
A man in his 40’s has been arrested in connection with the incident, and is currently being detained at Buncrana Garda Station.
Detectives are currently preserving the scene, and are waiting for forensic experts to arrive to carry out their investigations into the deaths of the pensioners.
